Skip-Stitch and Bobbin Thread Remaining Detectors

 

Stitch skipping is detected during sewing. This helps lighten the operator's inspection work load and also prevents defective products from being shipped. In the case where a skipped stitch is detected, the buzzer sounds, the red lamp lights up and the sewing machine stops. With this function, the operator is allowed to concentrate on sewing work without worryring about skipped stitching.

 

A buzzer sounds and the green lamp lights up when the amount of thread remaining on the bobbin reaches a predetermined length (i.e. running low). It is also possible to automatically stop the sewing machine at this point to avoid any waste from half finished seams. With this function, the operator is allowed to concentrate on sewing without caring about the amount of thread remaining on the bobbin.

Digital Tread Tension Control

Thread tension can be numerically controlled. Since the thread tension cannot be changed without a control box, a change in thread tension by the operator for personal preference is not possible. Also due to the fact the needle thread tension is changed with the stepping motor, consistent thread tension control is achieved.

Sixteen different thread tension values can be set for a single sewing machine unit. In addition, one control box is able to manage thread tensions for 250 sewing machine units. The digitalization of thread tension ensures there is consistency across a production line. Manual adjustments normally carried out do not allow for the same degree of accuracy to be achieved and for high quality production processes it is essential that this conformity exists.

Risk Management Devices


Operators safety should be every production processes number one concern. Operating high speed machinery daily comes with its risks but with the addition of some optional devices a factory can considerably reduce the risk to its workers.
Sewing machine operators know how to handle a sewing machine and as such make manual corrections and adjustments throughout the day. This may be in the form of turning the hand wheel to position a stitch or freeing debris from the machine hook. These actions increase the possible risk to machine operators if precautions are not put in place.
Below you can see some common practices by operators and some of the serious risks involved with these habits.

Juki's risk management devices allow for an extra layer of safety for operators and help to avid the injuries mention above.

Eye Guard:

This device protects the operators from broken needles that can cause serious injury if sent flying during operation.  If the eye guard is open the sewing machine cannot be started.

Slide Plate:

The sewing machine will not start if the throat plate is open. This prevents the material the form being caught in the hook and thus removes the risk of an operator injuring themselves on a rotating hook.

Handwheel Cover:

The handwheel cover prevents the sewing machine from starting up unexpectedly while the operator is turning the handwheel manually. In addition, the cover also prevents the thread and material from being entangled in the handwheel
